Professional Impact

This summer, I learned how to better collaborate with partner organizations, lead meetings, communicate engineering topics with non-engineers, and use Autodesk Fusion 360. Before this internship, I had never used Fusion 360, so there was a big learning curve. But, after using it throughout the summer, I feel very comfortable with the software now. In addition, the LinkedIn Learning component of the BSP helped me further enhance my professional skills by propelling me to take a course on Solidworks and explore sustainable design.

Checking in with my alumni mentor several times during the summer really helped me navigate working on engineering projects with non-engineers. Dr. Ward-Caviness also gave me some great tips on how to improve my LinkedIn page and engineering portfolio.

My work this summer furthered my desire to create technology with a positive impact and use engineering to address issues in conservation, both of which I would love to continue to do in the future.
